About Dr. Martinez

Elena Martinez graduated from Harbor UCLA Medical Center – Women’s Healthcare Nurse Practitioner Certificate Program in 2003 and maintains her board-certification from the National Certification Corporation (NCC) since 2005 in Obstetric, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Nursing Specialty. Her professional nursing experience includes maternal childcare, as a postpartum nurse her initial year out of nursing school in 2000, then public health nursing in HIV and reproductive infections, and the majority of her years have been spent in private practice Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a trained colposcopist for the management of abnormal pap smears since 2009.
Elena believes that she has the professional responsibility to be a credible, reliable, and trustworthy source of information for her patients and that women need to play an active role in making informed decisions, and through preventive medicine, achieve optimal health. She truly has enjoyed the opportunity to serve the members of her community.

Outside of work Elena loves spending time with family, cooking, biking, and traveling.
She is fluent in Spanish.
